DONDANG SAYANG


Dondang Sayang literally love ballad, originated in Melaka sometime in the 15th century, influenced by traditional Portuguese folk music.It is a traditional Malay form of entertainment where Baba and Nyonya singers exchange extemporaneous Malay Pantun (poetry), in a lighthearted and sometimes humorous style. The singers are normally accompanied by a violin, two Malay rebana (drums), and a tetawak (gong). These instruments are often supplemented by other available instruments, most notably, accordions, flutes, or an additional violin.
It is also associated with the Ronggeng dance




TARIAN PORTUGUESE




Tarian Portugis, or "Portuguese dance," is a term given to an eclectic performance repertoire associated with the Malaysian-Portuguese community. The dances are performed, often for tourists audiences, by troupes from the Portuguese Settlement in Malacca.
The Tarian Portugis tradition was invented in 1952, when a small group of upper-class Eurasians from Malacca who were preparing to entertain a visiting Portuguese dignitary learned a few dances from a book on Portuguese folk dances.





NAZAM



Poem (Nazam) is a kind of poetry that has existed for over 100 years ago. Poem (Nazam) that seemedto resemble nasyid but it can be sing individually or collectively in sponton by women when weave a mat, make ketupat, sedate the child and others. Most of the lyrics is a long poem form contains advice and guidance normally associated with the knowledge of faith, Fardhu Ain, The nature of the Prophet,The nature of 20 and so on. This poem is underscored his group usually consists of 5to 8 people.Historically, the poem said to have originated from Persia and in the 16th century,poem brought to Southeast Asia by traders and scholars.




SILAT MELAKA


Silat is one of the arts branch of the Malay society since time immemorial. Silat is intended    to defend themselves against opponents with find wrong opponent. If you look historically, this martial arts exist in Malacca since the days of the Malacca Sultanate, which is between the 15th century. However, it is said to have originated from North Sumatra, Indonesia, and then accepted by the Malay community.
 This silatpresentation ceremonies held at gatherings like weddings, royal, and so on.Generally, there are two types of popular martial in Malacca, which Gayong and SilatSilat is based on the Five Friends friendships of five brothers of Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat, Hang Kasturi, Hang Hang Lekiu Lovina and with a variety of martial skill.
